The Dave Band
Dave Pankin Guitar/Vocals- Playing guitar since the age of 15 ,
Dave has been a Madison resident since 1980 . "Guitar is my life "
Ever since hearing my first Eric Clapton and Cream records,
I knew what I wanted to do with my life.
With influences as wide ranging as
Robert Fripp, Frank Zappa, Jerry Garcia, Jimi Hendrix,
And newer players like Trey Anistsio, Jimi Herring ,and Warren Hanyes .
Dave plays with a heavy blues and Psychedelic feel
that comes across best when playing in this most recent ensemble.
Having played in Madison since 1984, He has played guitar in the bands
Insect Fear, The Ruins, SwitchTrackalley, Primitive Feet,and Mercury's Wake.
In 1996 after leaving Mercury's Wake, He stared forming, The Dave Pankin Band ,with
Ben Kidwell,after going through many different
rhythm sections we finally found D.J. and Mike to make what was later changed to The Dave Band
Our Goal is to play the best and most fun music, that we can come up with.
Hopefully we will be able to share this experience with you and your friends soon .

D.J. Thompson : Bass ,Vocals
D.J. has been playing bass for about ten years.
His influences range from classical music
to the blues, to just hard-core rock-n-roll.
Odyssey was the first band he was in when he lived in Minnesota, and later moved to Orlando to pursue a career as a Harley-Davidson Technician. While attending class, he started to play with The Dave Young Band.
He ended up leaving Florida and moving to Denver and working for Easy riders. After all is said and done, he lands in madison working in a dealership and oddly enough started playing' with The Dave Band. "I Jam with allot of guys named Dave.

Madison native Ben Kidwell :Piano/keyboards,Vocals
Ben has been collaborating with other Musicians in a variety of styles since 1990. Previous ensembles include the Anklebiters ,
Mercury's Wake ,and We're Freaks .
In addition to his work with The Dave Band,
Ben plays with the
Big Dive Community Orchestra
and studies classical piano and music theory at
the U.W. Madison school of music .
Dave has been putting up with him since 1996 .
In that time he has played over 20,000 wrong notes and even a few right ones .

Mike Miller: Drums
Mike has been playing the drums for about 6 years.His first group was an accoustic classic rock band called Prickers Thicket. After that Mike Played with various pick up bands and work for a short while wih the Loose Change Band from Poynette, Wi..& spent the last year in the band BitchBoy. Mike influences include Zappa ,heavy blues, classic rock, and of course the Dead ,(DEy THe Best ), Mike recently joined The Dave Band ,in Nov. of 2001 & is having tons of fun keeping the groove " I hope to make The Dave Band A long musical relationship
